De-cluttering Oxford Street. London UK

LIke many other major shopping districts, the intensity of Oxford Street in the United Kingdom can result in a hostile place for community and consumers. Large numbers of people and an unnecessary amount of street furniture compete for space on this narrow shopping street. With limited number of resting spaces, the street can create an unfriendly environment and result in a feeling of frustration between fellow citizens. By combining different types of street furniture and creating elevated seating above street level made from a single sheet of metal, consumers have the opportunity to relax and to take a break from chaos in a ‘de-cluttered street’ with more space. This proposal hopes to create social interaction and seeks to encourage communication between fellow citizens whilst also giving a different spatial perspective of our modern street,
